Basic and Master Designations

The American Academy offers on-site designation classes at our convenient Las Vegas location and other pre-arranged locations throughout the U.S. However, most of our classes are conducted via correspondence. The Basic Certified Planner Designation requires 24 hours of classroom instruction and the successful completion of a comprehensive examination. The cost of the Basic Education course is $1,295.00. (As a correspondence course, the cost is $1,195.00.)

The Master Certified Planner Designation is awarded to individuals who have achieved the Basic Designation, and wish to continue their education in estate planning, thereby utilizing more advanced techniques and concepts. The Master certification requires an additional 16 hours of classroom instruction and successful completion of the Master examination. The cost of the Master Education class is $495.00.

All materials and text for each course will be provided by the American Academy, and are included in this fee. The annual fee to maintain a designation is $195.00. This fee includes a bimonthly newsletter from the Academy and educational resources and support from our national office.
